We have a barre charm winner!
We asked our barre girls to contribute a goal or milestone story and we received a LOT of responses via email and instagram.
Some were quite funny.
Others showed us how badass you truly are.
There were ones that warmed the heart.
And our hearts were definitely touched.
The Winner: Camie Wray
My Barre Milestone was being able to take a barre class with my two older sisters over the Christmas vacation. Last May we found out that my oldest sister (the one being carried in the picture) is in kidney failure. She lives in Florida and was planning a surprise trip to Utah to come see our family for Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed a few days before her trip and the doctors wouldn’t let get travel or exercise.
She has been a medical mystery ever since. The doctors don’t know why she is in kidney failure. She doesn’t have diabetes, she doesn’t eat unhealthy processed food, and she is a very active person. It just seems that her kidneys just stopped working one day.
She has taken countless tests and we are still looking for answers, but for nothing short of a miracle, the doctors cleared her to fly out to Utah for Christmas AND to take a barre class with me.
It was a miraculous experience being able to spend time with her and to see her body do so well in a barre class. That class will always be one I will never forget! – Camie Wray

Y’all my goal is simple: hydrate like a boss and hit the 100 club at my barre studio. Next stop 250 club baby!!!!! As a single parent I am also a Flight attendant and travel ALOT. My sister and I were recently reunited with our dance coach from middle school at her new Studio Barre class! She is an amazing instructor and has helped me reach my fitness goals and get all tucked up! Every class with her is a huge milestone in my opinion. I go to Pure Barre Chattanooga and during the month of September they challenged us! Back to the barre challenge! They wanted us to complete 30 classes in 35 days. I dove straight in. I completed 30 classes in 30 days! Every single day for 30 days! A lot of those at the 6 am class! Not only did I plank longer, push harder, shake longer, go to work energized, and up my positivity, but I saw results! All of this with a minor tweak to my diet, I simply cut sodas and upped my water intake. It felt so good! This was my favorite barre goal met so far, and not only did I complete the challenge and earn a free month, but I also joined the 100 class club and the 20 in a row (for my second time) during the challenge! – Courtney, Pure Barre Chattanooga
My proud barre milestone is teaching my first barre class in November! I have loved every class I’ve taught ever since! The first picture is after my first class and the second is me teaching when someone from the newspaper came to my class! I barre 1-2 times a week in the studio and at home 1-2 times a week, that was late 2015 (and it didn’t start off that way prior to our move, I barred 5 times a week). My goal this year is to push myself harder and increase the amount I barre. Since the new year and joining barre challenges, like the Barre3 challenge, I’ve pushed myself to do barre 5 times a week, even at home pushing myself as if I was in a studio setting (because we all know at home we don’t barre hard like we do at the studio). Since then, in that weeks time, I have noticed, my insomnia that I have had for the last 6 months has nearly vanished, I feel more rejuvenated, and just more focused and determined in life. I personally have had a difficult transition with this move, I have lost a family member through a tragic death, my children have struggled with the adjustment, and then my husband deployed. Mind you, all those events happened right at the beginning of our move. I let barre slip and doing a reset at the start of the new year, I didn’t realize how important barre was to my mind, body, and soul until I could finally sleep at night. Years after having a terrible break through my ankle my barre accomplishment was being able to make it through classes without modifying on my bad leg! My toes aren’t as high as everyone else’s, but they will be, that’s my goal! – Emiko, Pure Barre Jackson
