My Free Routine

Tizzy Brown

Posted on August 26 2016

Working out can get expensive. Sure going for a run is free, minus the cost of shoes, but I find running maddening, and often hard on my body. Do much more than running though, and the costs add up. That’s why I do all I can to take advantage of business’s deals and new client offers. This isn’t just for exercise. I find that skincare and beauty products also make a significant dent in my paycheck, and since my paycheck isn’t all that large to begin with, I do what I can to keep up my routine on a budget. Here are some of my favorite deals.

  1. CorePower Yoga’s Free Week of Unlimited Yoga for New Clients

I LOVE CorePower, and I DO NOT love yoga. When I work out, I work out with a purpose. I want to get in shape, lose pounds, and lose inches on my waistline. I want to look good naked. CorePower takes yoga up a notch. In addition to the usual reasons people love yoga, CorePower’s level of intensity makes this class an incredible workout. I always work so hard in these classes, something that I’ve never felt in any other yoga class. Plus, their heated rooms and variety of yoga-like classes, including weighted cardio classes, add an extra punch to your workout. To take advantage of this deal check out your local CorePower studio’s website. If only they’d open a studio in Boston…

  1. Sweat with Kayla’s Free 7 Day Trial

If you’ve read some of my previous posts, you’ll know that I am INTO Sweat with Kayla. The app, created by Australian personal trainer Kayla Itsines and her boyfriend, trainer Tobi Pearce, offers day-by-day training plans and meals plans, including snacks. Her plans are 28-minute circuit workouts paired with cardio exercises. Before doing Kayla, I did not know it was possible to work so hard in 28 minutes! Now, whenever I see my friends, their first question for me is always “How’s Kayla?” I am totally obsessed. The free trial requires a credit card, and will automatically renew your subscriptions for the next month if you don’t cancel. However, most will receive a discount code for renewal at the completion of the free trial.

  1. Honest Beauty Free Trial

Okay so this one is mostly free. The Honest Company, Jessica Alba’s household and products company emphasizing “ethical consumerism,” has a skincare and beauty line and it is awesome.  For the cost of shipping ($5.95) they will send you a free trial of their basic skincare products, including face wash, brightening cream, and daily SPF, plus a super cute make up bag and couple of samples of other products. They will also send you the trial that works best for your skin type: oily, normal, or dry. I absolutely love these products and my skin is feeling healthier than ever. Again though, the free trial requires a credit card and will automatically renew your subscription if you don’t cancel.

A few other offers to look out for:

Flywheel offers their first class at the discounted rate of $15.

SoulCycle offers their first class at the discounted rate of $20. Call the studio to set this up.

All Pure Barre studios offer some sort of new client special that differs from studio to studio.

Blue Apron offers free meals for first time users.

Birchbox has an amazing rewards program, where dollars spent and reviews = points = free dollars to spend in their store!

Kiehl’s offers free samples with every purchase, both in store and online.

Sephora will give free samples of any product, if you ask. If you become a Beauty Insider you’ll get samples with most purchases as well.

And of course, check out your local gym/spin studio/barre studio/yoga studio! Most business offer a discount to new clients!
