Lean Mean Green Machine

We’ve all seen the slogan gracing instagram, tank tops, sweat shirts and the like “But First Coffee…” and I hear ya, sometimes you just know the day is gonna be a flop unless you get a hit of whatever your morning pick me up is.

Now I’ve never been one for caffeine~ so my tank would read “But First Green Juice”.

It’s what gets me through my workouts~ the knowledge that my pre-prepped combination of greens is waiting for me to guzzle down straight after I’ve sparkled (yeah I don’t sweat i sparkle) my way through my daily workout.

So I wanted to share 2 of my favourite green juices with you here.

The first is one that I have almost daily at some stage of the day purely because it tastes so freakin good I call it my “Green Goddess” juice as I swear I can feel my skin, hair & nails getting glowier, longer & stronger as I drink it…

  • 1 small banana
  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1 small cup of avocado
  • 1 small cup of fresh pineapple
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • As many chai seeds as you see fit & as much coconut water as you like~ I like my juices on the thicker side so do 1 & 1/2 cups to get the consistency I like
  • Blitz all the ingredients up and enjoy

This juice is pretty much an all rounder as it’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamins A, B5, B6, C, E, K, iron, zinc, potassium, folate, fibre & protein to name but a few so as well as tasting delicious it also packs a major health punch too.

My second go to green juice is a fat burner that’ll put some fire in your belly.

It’s made up of ~

  • 1 cup of coconut water (my staple base for all my green juices)
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 a cucumber (fresh or frozen)
  • 3 tables spoons of coriander
  • Juice of 1 squeezed lemon
  • Blend & Burn Baby!

This juice is a metabolism booster and is one that I prefer to drink as a nightcap before bed so that it can work its magic overnight.

I won’t lie to you, the taste takes a little getting use to at first but is surprise refreshing once you’ve becomes accustomed and its cleansing and detoxing benefits are well worth it…

So why not try mixing up your morning and trying a green juice in place of your normal caffeine fix and start reaping the health and beauty benefits to be gained in the process.
